How does Easy Service Monitor(ESM)
work?
ESM will monitor network services to see if they can work properly
with a predefined time interval. If you are a network administrator,
and you are handling tens, or hundreds of server which provide
a variety of services, like HTTP, Email, FTP, ESM will be a
convenient to you. It can detect services error before it goes
into worse and alert you with several kinds of methods.
What happens if ESM alarm?
That means the service are not correctly running, or ESM can
not reach the net. If the machine which has installed ESM has
some problems in reaching the net, ESM will alert you as well.
Can ESM recover the service when
it goes into trouble?
You may install ESM on the machine which provide services, if
services can not properly work and if you had choosed to let
ESM restart your computer to recover the services, it will do
as you had assigned.
Why can not ESM monitor POP3
services via proxy?
Current version of ESM can only monitor web page using proxy.
What should I do if my HTTP services
are installed at port 8080?
With ESM you can custom yourself services to be monitored, which
provide you the most freedom in dealing with various conditions.

list->Pages->Service page section in the ESM help file.
I had set Phone call alert method,
but it seems can not work?
The Phone call alert method need a modem in your machine, and
the modem should be linked with a phone line.
I set five minute time interval
for a service, but Why I find it was converted into one minute
by ESM?
If ESM detect an error of the service, it will automatically
set the time interval to one minute. The change will not be
recovered unless the fault times accumulate up to the trigger
time that ESM will perform predefined alarm methods or the service
return to normal status.
Will ESM record every fault connection
with the services monitored?
Yes, of course. ESM has a log file which records all the errors
had happened and you can easily see this log file by clicking
the "View log" button in ESM's button area.
Why do not ESM run on my Windows
98?
That means your ODBC dirver is too old. You need update it from
Microsoft. The links are:

From the bottom of the two web pages, you should select the
language for your operation system , then click "Go to
Download" to download the files. When download is over,
double click it to install the drivers. Note you must install
the mdac_xxx.exe file first. The update is totally free.
